We provide you with the necessary guidance to know which type of Ocean Freight service suits your purpose the most: An FCL shipment or an LCL shipment.
FCL or (Full Container Load) shipment allows you to hire an entire container for your goods no matter if they fill the container to its maximum capacity or not.
FCL Shipment is better used:
- When shipping large, fragile, and expensive goods
- It is cost-effective if the volume of your shipment is 13 cubic meters or above.
- It takes shorter transit time than LCL
- The container remains sealed the whole way from its departure until its destination.
- There is no risk of contamination due to other cargos occupying the same container as yours.
LCL or (Less than Container Load) shipment allows you to ship cargo with moderate volume by sharing a container with other goods and only paying for the volume you are using.
By benefiting from this type of shipment you will:
- Only pay for the volume you are using from the total container’s space
- Only pay a flat rate for the container
- Will save inventory space
- Never worry about availability, unlike FCL shipment, especially during peak seasons and holiday.

Types of goods and ships:

RORO ships | Roll-on/roll-off ships carrying wheeled cargo such as automobiles, trucks, semi-trailer trucks, trailers, and railroad cars, that are driven on and off the ship on their own wheels or using a platform vehicle |
To avoid any misunderstanding or troubles from unexpected events, we need to address a few key concerns:
- Cargos and ships might face problems: Being in transit for more than the estimated time
- Weather conditions may be troubling: Heavy rainfall, storms, violent waves, etc.
- Your cargo might not be properly taken care of.
This is why we advise you to use packages that can:
- Protect your goods no matter what happens
- Be able to withstand any type of environment
- Be able to withstand vertical pressure when piling up crates
Sea shipment fees:
Regarding all the sea shipments, the rate will be calculated on the highest measurement considering 1CBM = 1,000 Kgs (1 ton)
To calculate the chargeable weight:
- Number of CBM * 167 KGS
- (L*H*W)/ 6,000
Example 1:
- Volume: 3 CBM
- Weight: 5 tons
- Ocean freight will be based on 5 and not 3
Example 2:
- Volume: 3 CBM
- Weight: 2 tons
- Ocean freight will be based on 3 instead of 2
